CLA and RISE Submit Comments on Cumulative Risk Assessment Guidelines

CLA and RISE submitted joint comments on the EPA Office of Research and Development Guidelines for Cumulative Risk Assessment (CRA). The agency-wide guidelines describe steps for planning, determining whether a CRA should be performed and the need for transparency in the CRA process, including the use of clear and accessible language and the provision of detailed documentation. CLA and RISE’s comments focus on the need for continuing EPA’s commitment to scientific integrity, transparency, and the use of sound science. Since these guidelines are not specific to the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) at EPA, the joint comments highlight the robust risk assessment process that already exists for pesticide registration decisions.
