CLA and RISE Submit Comments on Interagency Cooperation on Endangered Species

CropLife America (CLA) and RISE submitted joint comments on proposed changes to the interagency consultation projects between the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), and other agencies. The interagency consultation process is vital to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) assessment process. CLA and RISE continue to support interagency cooperation through the Interagency Working Group (IWG) as outlined in the last Farm Bill and in the Memorandum of Agreement among the agencies involved. Additionally, CLA and RISE support proposed changes to existing rules to consider appropriate offsets to mitigate remaining impacts after taking measures to reduce the effects of pesticides on listed species and critical habitats.
