CropLife America Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Two Industry Experts

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Each year, CropLife America (CLA) honors individuals who are dedicated to improving the pesticide industry and American agriculture. At this year’s CropLife Annual Meeting, held September 25 – 28 in San Antonio, Texas, the industry presented two Lifetime Achievement Awards to outstanding individuals who have dedicated their illustrious careers to agriculture and whose work helped find solutions for the industry’s most pressing issues.

The first Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Dr. Ray McAllister, senior director of regulatory policy at CropLife America. Dr. McAllister is globally recognized for his expertise in the field of pesticide regulations and trade. His primary areas of responsibility include development, refinement, and implementation of regulations and guidelines for premarket government approval, and continued support of pesticide products and uses. Dr. McAllister is an integral part of CLA where he is known as a tireless worker with a quick wit who truly cares about agriculture and the pesticide industry. Dr. McAllister’s contributions to the industry will long continue to help drive our work forward, and CLA is truly honored to present him with this award.

The next Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Bill Culpepper, chairman of the Board at SePRO Corporation. Bill founded SePRO Corporation in 1994, becoming the world’s leader in aquatic plant protection products in just five years due to Bill’s leadership. Bill was also a founder of RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) that has become a leading voice for the specialty pesticide industry since Bill helped form the organization more than 30 years ago. Bill has generously given back to the industry and his alma mater, North Carolina State, paving the way for future generations to make a similar impact as he did. Bill’s list of accomplishments is truly impressive and his service to RISE, CropLife, and the pesticide industry are unparalleled. CropLife America is grateful for Bill’s dedication and passion for strengthening our industry and we congratulate him on this prestigious award.

“We are proud to honor individuals who exemplify CLA’s mission of helping ensure growers and other pesticide users have the tools they need to protect their homes, health, crops, and communities” said Chris Novak, President and CEO of CLA.

“Ray and Bill have given so much to the agriculture and pesticide industry and we thank them for their years of dedicated service. We are honored to present them both with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Thanks to their contributions and achievements, we can continue moving towards our goal of providing farmers with the technologies they need to sustainably feed the world.”
