New Leader Brings Innovative Perspective to CropLife America Policy Efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C. - CropLife America (CLA) is excited to welcome incoming Vice President, Government Relations Peggy Browne. With years of experience in agriculture, government, and policy, Peggy will use her expertise to lead CLA’s government relations team.

“The pesticide industry is facing both unprecedented challenges and unique opportunities as we work to improve the registration of pesticides, safeguard the protection of wildlife and the environment, and ensure that farmers and consumers have the tools they need to protect their crops, homes, and health. Peggy’s background and passion for agriculture, her understanding of government, and her demonstrated leadership will help CropLife continue to move industry priorities forward. As CLA works to reauthorize the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act, secure new funding for EPA, and defend our risk-based regulatory system, Peggy’s leadership skills will be invaluable in achieving the goals and objectives of our strategic plan,” said Chris Novak, president and CEO of CLA.

Prior to joining CLA, Peggy worked for USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA)—starting first in Oregon as the state executive director before moving to Washington, D.C., as the deputy administrator of field operations. Peggy also recently worked on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. Peggy founded and was president and CEO of Browne Consulting where she worked with farmers to develop and manage conservation projects, advised clients on water rights issues, Farm Bill programs and more. Her agriculture experience is grounded in her experience as a farmer/rancher in Oregon, where she served as vice president of the Oregon Farm Bureau.
