Dr. Carl Winter Talks Modern Agriculture
CAST (Council for Agriculture Science and Technology) recently announced that Dr. Carl Winter was the 2012 recipient of the Borlaug CAST Communication award. In this video CLA's Barb Glenn talks with Dr. Winter about the award, along with his unique methods for spreading the word about modern agriculture to the masses. Dr. Winter is currently the Director of the FoodSafe Program and Extension Food Toxicologist in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of California–Davis. His research and outreach work focus on pesticide residues and naturally occurring toxins in foods, food chemical and microbiological risk assessment, and food safety education using music. Winter earned his B.S. in environmental toxicology and his Ph.D. in agricultural and environmental chemistry, both from the University of California–Davis.
