LONDON – CropLife America (CLA) was recently honored with the 2009 Agrow Award for Best Supporting Role for its innovative “Eco Roadmap Project,” an industry-led initiative to address the key environmental concerns in the crop protection industry. Founded in 2007, the Agrow Awards recognize professional excellence from individuals and organizations in the crop protection and crop production industry.
“We are honored to receive this year’s Agrow Award for Best Supporting Role and the recognition for our work in representing the needs and concerns of the industry,” said Jay Vroom, president and CEO of CLA. “The Eco Roadmap Project embodies the crop protection industry’s commitment to producing safe and environmentally sound products, an issue which we take very seriously.”
Launched by CLA in 2008, the Eco Roadmap Project creates a cohesive voice for the crop protection industry and fosters an analysis of today’s important environmental issues. CLA gathered the expert advice of scientists, lawyers, federal and state regulators, and industry leaders to identify the leading concerns and items to be comprehensively addressed. With an understanding of the key matters, CLA facilitated the development of new strategies to be used in the creation and registration of crop protection products. The Eco Roadmap Project results in a unified understanding of the leading issues and the continued manufacturing of safe and responsible products across the industry.
