CropLife Foundation – New Board, New Direction

WASHINGTON, DC – The CropLife Foundation has appointed a new Board of Directors as well as a new Chairman of the Board. Roger Underwood (co-founder of Becker Underwood) will serve as Chairman of the new Board. Other members include: Bob Trogele (AMVAC), Julie Borlaug (Texas A&M), Sean McMahon (Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance) and Jay Vroom (CropLife America).

“We are charting a new course for the Foundation. It is an exciting time given the significant impact agriculture makes on public health on a daily basis. The Board is looking forward and sees a landscape of opportunity,” Underwood noted. Underwood is quick to credit Vroom, former Foundation Chairman, for the work the Foundation has accomplished to date. “Jay is a strong leader who has put the Foundation in a position to succeed moving forward,” Underwood said.

The mission of the Foundation is to advance sustainable agriculture and public health through science and education. This mission is supported by a new Foundation vision: meeting the increasing demand for a safe food supply and protecting public health through the science of sustainable agriculture.

Sarah McLallen will continue to serve as executive director of the Foundation and will also be the point of contact for Foundation programs. She may be reached via email at or by phone at 202-872-3885. Under the new Board leadership, the Foundation continues support for CropLife StewardshipFirst (CropLife America’s stewardship program), the Pesticide State Education Modernization Program, the Coalition for the Advancement of Precision Agriculture and the Crop Protection Research Institute.
