Gowan are providers of quality crop protection solutions for specialty crops and niche markets of agriculture. Their products include insecticides/miticides, fungicides, and herbicides. Their critical competencies are field sales and development, pesticide registration, formulation and efficient market delivery.
CropLife International is a global federation representing the plant science industry. CLI addresses international developments in the area of crop protection (pesticides), biotechnology (GMOs) and sustainable agriculture. CLI is committed to the safe and responsible use of the industry's products in order to provide safe and abundant food as well as other benefits back to the consumer.
Today, growers of many U.S. crops hire independent professional consultants to manage their product use and only request applications of crop protection products when a problem arises. They also use products that are specific to the pests present. This has led some crops, like cotton, to reduce product applications from 20 or 40 applications per year down to 4 or 5.
Modern Agriculture in Argentina
Modern Agriculture In Argentina
CLA staff recently visited Argentina to meet with Mr. Roberto Peiretti of Argentina's No-Till Farmers Association. His leading farm operation is implementing amazing no-till practices and technologies. CLA was introduced to Mr. Peiretti by CropLife Latin America's Dr. Guillermo Cal, CASAFE's former executive director for many years (CASAFE is CropLife's national association for Argentina). Both are interviewed in this video about how Modern Agriculture practices have contributed to increased yields in Argentina.
CLA is now looking for additional follow-up opportunities to connect Peiretti with counterpart farmers in the U.S. to expound upon practical implementation of no-till strategies and advancements, creatively pushing new concepts for modern herbicide technologies, biotechnologies and other farming technologies to gain greater sustainability and farm productivity.
